Hainan Airlines has launched its first direct flight between London and┬áChangsha, Hunan, one of China’s most famous historical cities. Now Boeing 787 passenger jets depart each week from┬áChangsha┬áHuanghua International Airport and arrive at┬áLondon’s Heathrow Airport before making the return journey. Flights depart from Changsha in the morning, just before noon, and arrive in London mid-afternoon on the same day. Returning flights leave Heathrow late at night arriving in Changsha mid-afternoon the following day.
The capital of Hunan province and a political, economic, cultural, and technological hub, Changsha is located on the lower reaches of Xiang river, a branch of the Yangtze River. Changsha’s long, storied history provides a wealth of attractions, and a rich collection of parks and gardens are popular with both visitors and locals.
