cycling adventure of the chiang maiÔÇÖs rural hills

This 28- to 30-kilometre bicycle ride is a wonderful way to leisurely discover the beautiful countryside north of Chiang Mai. Ride through tranquil villages, pass shimmering rice paddies, visit Buddhist temples and observe locals working the fields on this one-day family-friendly tour.

Begin the day with a transfer to Mae-Rim by local songthaew, which is a red truck taxi. Your cycling adventure begins with a tour through the rural countryside past rice fields and plantations. Then youÔÇÖll stop to visit a buffalo farm where you can observe water buffalos assisting with rice farming. A picnic style lunch at a local restaurant is next, followed by more scenic riding on the way back to Chiang Mai. Get a hands-on lesson on how to turn elephant poo into paper, too. YouÔÇÖll finish your tour with a well-deserved refreshment at a local riverside house before embarking on a boat cruise down the Ping River back to Chiang Mai.
