a rugged homestay experience in the laotian countryside

Share

Discover an entirely different world while staying with a local family who maintains an old traditional lifestyle in a remote region of Laos between Nam Ou river and giant rice field. Roughly 65 kilometres from Luang Prabang, visit a beautiful little village surrounded by mountains, rice fields and a beautiful river.

Your host, Kham, and her children and parents will make you feel at home while she shares a variety of local experiences with you such as teaching you how to prepare a meal, participating in a ÔÇÿbaciÔÇÖ ceremony and harvesting rice. ┬áYou will also go fishing in the early morning with her cousin, visit the local school, take a bath in the river and walk through a fresh produce market.

The accommodations are very basic at KhamÔÇÖs cousinÔÇÖs house. You may be sleeping in a communal room on a thin mattress and a mosquito net. All local meals and transportation are included. The homestay programme is for a minimum of two days and one night and a maximum stay of three days and two nights.

Recommended tour: 4-Day Nong Khiaw Trekking and Village Exploration
